DAGYARAN

Turkish opera singer Selin Dagyaran has been performing numerous leading soprano roles since 2020. Dagyaran’s portrayals of opera’s most iconic heroines demonstrate an outstanding vocal capacity and artistic sensibility with a real young lyric voice. Despite her very young age, she already has a very large and wide list of leading soprano roles that she has already given her debut to in Austria and Germany, including Desdemona from Otello, Elisabetta di Valois from Don Carlo, Violetta from La Traviata, Gilda from Rigoletto and Fenena from Nabucco (G. Verdi), Mimì from La Bohemé (G. Puccini), Santuzza from Cavalleria Rusticana (P. Mascagni), Nedda from I Pagliacci (R. Leoncavallo), Lucia from Lucia di Lammermoor, Adina from L’elisir d’amore (G. Donizetti), Rosina from Il Barbiere di Siviglia (G. Rossini), Pamina from Magic Flute, Donna Anna from Don Giovanni (W. A. Mozart). She has performed in many concerts all over Europe.

Selin Dagyaran was born in december 1996 in Izmir/Turkey and was already surrounded by classical music from the age of three by taking Kodaly music lessons. She started to play the piano at the age of six and got her 8. Grade (last) ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) diploma at the age of seventeen.

In 2016 she continued her studies in Parma/Italy to study both opera singing and management engineering. Dagyaran graduated from Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito Parma (opera singing) and Università di Parma (management engineering). She concluded her studies with the master degree of opera singing from Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito Parma. During her study years in Italy, she performed in Verdi Festival organized by Teatro Regio di Parma.

In 2021 she won the first prize in 14. Edition of Grandi Voci International Opera Singer’s Competition in Salzburg. In this competition she met the jury members Marco Iezzi from BJM Management, Marco Moresco (Sinfonia Abruzzese) and Ingo Kolonerics, Jury President and Intendant of Oper im Berg Festival. As a result, Selin was offered several leading roles in opera productions in Austria and Germany.

Selin Dagyaran is very grateful that she had the chance to meet Kammersängerin Grace Bumbry as a patronage of Oper im Berg Festival Salzburg and to be able to recieve her very valuable advices.

Throughout the productions of the Oper im Berg Festival, Intendant and Bass Ingo Kolonerics had an important and enormous positive influence on the vocal development of the artist.
